Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect what we need to make your group trip planning work. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and we don't have a "growth team" analyzing your every click. If you give us your email, we'll only use it to send you updates about your trip.

Who we are

decidewhere.to is operated by Marmalard LLC. When we say "we," "us," or "our," we mean Marmalard LLC.

What we collect

• Trip data: Airports, group sizes, dates, constraints, vibe preferences, and destination votes. This is the stuff you type in to plan your trip.
• Email addresses: If you provide one (optional), we store it to send you trip updates like vote notifications and results.
• Payment info: If you purchase an itinerary, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics to understand how people use the site (page views, device type, general location). This data is aggregated and not tied to your identity.

What we do with it

• Show you and your group ranked trip destinations
• Generate AI-powered itineraries when you purchase one
• Send trip-related email notifications (if you opt in)
• Improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns

That's the complete list. We don't sell your data to third parties. We don't use it for advertising. We don't share it with anyone except the service providers listed below.

Service providers

We use these third-party services to run decidewhere.to:

• Supabase — database hosting (stores your trip data)
• Vercel — website hosting and analytics
• Stripe — payment processing
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI-generated destination recommendations and itineraries

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy. We chose them because they're reputable and don't do weird things with your data.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to make the site work and analytics cookies (via Vercel Analytics) to understand usage patterns. We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. There's no retargeting. You won't see decidewhere.to ads following you around the internet.

AI-generated content

Destination recommendations and itineraries are generated using Anthropic's Claude AI. The trip preferences you provide (airports, dates, vibes) are sent to Claude to generate personalized results. Anthropic's privacy policy governs how they handle that data. We do not send your name, email, or payment information to Claude.

Data retention

Trip data is kept as long as the share link is active. We don't currently have automatic deletion, but if you want your trip data removed, email us and we'll take care of it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. California residents have rights under the CCPA. EU residents have rights under GDPR. We respect all of them. Just reach out.

Children

decidewhere.to is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you're 12 and planning a group trip, we respect the ambition, but please come back next year.

Changes

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top. We won't email you about privacy policy updates because that would be ironic.
